Joint first in the 'best steelband on the road' competition 2004

Hammered Steel is a Steelband of about twenty five players formed in 1993 by Chris Everett, a former head of music at Cape Cornwall School, which is near Lands End in West Cornwall, as a result of a workshop given at the school.

Chris had worked in the Caribbean for four years before moving to Cornwall, Hammered Steel is a community project, one of the original aims of the band was to promote multicultural ideals within its remote and rural community.

The future of Hammered Steel looks very bright, with its commitment to everhigher standards many bookings have been made for next year. The band is now looking to extend performances to foreign tours.
